Staff

YMCA Camp Ravencliff’s dedicated, energetic, talented staff of young adults give tirelessly to make sure every child experiences the magic of Ravencliff. We have one staff member for every eight campers. Staff members are chosen based on their maturity and ability to be positive role models. All staff members are age 18 or older, or have graduated from high school, have prior experience working with children and are certified in CPR and First Aid.  Many are certified lifeguards. All applicants are interviewed, fingerprinted and their references checked before they go through a weeklong training session. 

In addition to our menu of traditional activities, staff often dream up new, creative and fun activities for the campers to enjoy. In past years those have included Fish Diets (feeding fish from our toes), Hiding from Authority, Getting Dirty with mud and paint and many, many more. We encourage imagination and creativity on a regular basis!
