Youth, Teen and Family Camps

Located along the scenic Eel River in the town of Redway, California in Southern Humboldt County, YMCA Camp Ravencliff offers a unique camping experience for boys and girls. Camp activities include: swimming, crafts, singing, archery, canoeing, drama, games, nature, sports, campfires and much, much more!

Each session is highlighted by an overnight campout at our outdoor campsites, sleeping under the stars and cooking over the campfire, making for an unforgettable experience. Many sessions also feature a fun-filled theme day where the entire camp community is transformed. Most of our program is based on choice, allowing campers to choose from a variety of activities so they are always able to do something they enjoy.

Camp Ravencliff encourages every camper to develop his or her personal values and skills, while building community through relationships within their cabin and the entire camp. Campers come home from Ravencliff with greater self-esteem and a newfound independence, with a store of memories and friendships to last a lifetime. Let your child experience the magic of Ravencliff this summer.

Youth Camp (ages 7 - 13)
Each day begins with a nondenominational chapel service in a redwood grove above the river, and day ends with a campfire celebration above the river, where campers hear their own voices echo back at them from the cliffs. In between, campers are busy with two morning activity periods where they choose from a variety of activities, two free swims, free time, cabin activity time and evening activities with the entire camp.

Teen Camp (ages 13 - 15)
Teen Camp typically features extended activities and a longer campout, fun teambuilding for the entire camp and more adventurous activity options. Teen campers also get to sleep in and go to bed later than youth campers. Teen Camp often puts on a talent show, where all participants win prizes. We have put on our own versions of Survivor and The Amazing Race, challenging campers to develop their own skills and to work together as a community.

Campers In Leadership Training (entering grades 10 - 12)
Campers in Leadership Training (CILTs) are youth entering grades 10 - 12, who want to develop leadership skills and learn about teamwork. You can’t just teach leadership, you have to experience it. The CILT Program is a unique YMCA program that focuses on enhancing and developing valuable leadership skills in an environment that is fun, safe and values-oriented. CILTs receive hands-on experience through interactive training, the opportunity to help lead a small group of younger children, and engage in trust- and team-building activities with their peers. The CILT program is for teens who want a fun and challenging way to spend part of their summer.
